]]>If you were a kid in the late ‘90s or early 2000s, chances are you watched a beloved Australian children’s entertainment group known as The Wiggles on repeat. The Wiggles, who are renowned for their unique combination of fun, education, and music, have become an international hit. Their colorful characters, catchy songs, and dynamic performances make them memorable. We know that the cast changed in 2022, but whatever happened to the original Wiggles? Join us as we delve into the history and cast of The Wiggles.
©Courtesy of Peacock
Before the Wiggles in the 1980s, Anthony Field and Jeff Fatt were in an Australian pop band called The Cockroaches. At the time, Murray Cook was a member of several bands. Later, Cook met Field and Greg Page at Macquarie University. They were all studying at the time to become preschool teachers.
Phillip Wilcher (who played piano from the age of eight and had his first work published at the age of 14) started working in the early childhood music department at Macquarie University in the late 1980s. Field met Wilcher in 1990, and that was when he felt motivated to make a children’s music album based on early childhood education. He then recruited Page, Fatt, and Cook. And asked Wilcher to help record their debut album. Thank goodness they did, because the world wouldn’t be the same without their catchy tunes and colorful skivvies.

Without its colorful cast of characters, The Wiggles wouldn’t be the same. Kids loved the lively atmosphere that each member created with their unique qualities for the group. Before the production of their third album, The Wiggles decided to wear color-coded shirts. Fatt and Cook already owned shirts in their colors of purple and red. Field wanted a blue shirt, so Page and he dashed to the store to see who would get the blue one. What a race! Field got their first, and Page ended up with a yellow shirt. Furthermore, Field switched from a green shirt to blue to avoid clashing with Dorothy the Dinosaur. Let’s take a look at each Wiggle.
Anthony Field was the brains behind the operation of The Wiggles. He is the only original member of the Wiggles today. He is the youngest of seven children. In 1991, The Wiggles recorded their first CD; it sold 100,000 copies. Furthermore, in 2018, Field started the Unusual Commoner band for adult fans with David O’Reilly, Oliver Brian, and associate Wiggles member Lachlan Gillespie. They play a mixture of traditional Australian, Scottish, Irish, and folk songs. In late 2018, they played their first international show in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. As of 2022, Field's daughter Lucia Field acts as Blue Wiggle when he is unavailable.
Murray Cook provided songwriting, guitar, and vocals to the Wiggles group. After he retired, he remained involved in production and creativity. Furthermore, in 2013, he served as the team's touring manager. He then went on to explore other projects. In 2015, he played lead guitar for the Proposition on their album Edge of the Dancefloor. Cook later became a member of the Sydney soul-rock band the Soul Movers, where he showcased his passion for music and guitar skills. From 2013 until present, Simon Pryce has taken over the role of Red Wiggle along with Caterina Mete, who joined in 2022.
Jeff Fatt is a Chinese Australian actor and musician. Before The Wiggles, he also performed with Anthony Field in the pop band The Cockroaches. Out of all the original Wiggles members, Jeff was the oldest. In 2013, Lachlan Gillespie replaced Purple Wiggle. Lachlan gave birth in September 2020 to twin girls, and it was announced that she would take some time off to spend with her new babies. Fatt decided he would temporarily replace her while on maternity leave. In 2021, John Pearce joined and shares the role of Purple Wiggle with Lachlan Gillespie.
Greg Page is an Australian actor, musician, and singer. He is a founding member and lead singer of The Wiggles. He has also recorded several solo albums, and Here Comes Christmas was released in 2015. Page suffered from health conditions in the early 2000s, which led him to take a brief retirement in 2006. In 2009 he came out of retirement and started to perform a few live performances. After going into cardiac arrest in 2020, Page became a spokesperson for heart health and founded the Heart of the Nation Charity.
From 2006 to 2012, Sam Moran played the Yellow Wiggle. He studied music and classical voice education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and wanted to become a high school music teacher. In 2010, Moran released his first solo album through Sony Music called Colour of Love. The album features covers of popular love songs, including “You Make Loving Fun” by Fleetwood Mac. Furthermore, between 2013 and 2021, Moran hosted a preschool series called Play Along with Sam on Nick Jr. In 2015, Moran beat his former bandmates, the Wiggles, and won the ARIA Music Award for Best Children’s Album.
Emma Watkins is an Australian children’s author, entertainer, television presenter, singer and dancer. She was the first female member to join the Wiggles. She starred in her own spin-off series called Emma! as a solo Wiggles actor. After leaving the group in 2022, she launched her own children’s entertainment character called Emma Memma and released her own solo album. In 2023, the album received an ARIA Award for Best Children’s Album. Furthermore, she has also appeared in The Amazing Race Australia, The Masked Singer, and a Christmas special of Lego Masters Australia. She also hosted Teenage Boss: Next Level (2024) and narrated the series Reef School. Emma was then replaced by Tsehay Hawkins and Evie Ferris.
Whatever happened to the original Wiggles? After the original members retired, a new generation formed. The Wiggles continue to introduce new members and entertain new generations, focusing on music and encouraging children around the world. Have you ever wondered what happend to the cast of Barney? Find out here.

]]>Founded in 1971 by Gordon Bowker, Jerry Baldwin, and Zev Siegl, these three men decided to start a coffee shop. As of 2024, there are over 40,199 Starbucks locations worldwide. It’s no secret that Americans love to eat fast food. In 2023, Drive Research conducted a survey revealing that 65% of Americans eat fast food at least once a week. Starbucks is a popular choice for on-the-go beverages and meals. For my New Year’s resolution, I’ve decided to lose a bit of weight, get fitter, and eat fewer fast food meals. Some of the unhealthiest foods to eat at Starbucks include scones, sandwiches, and frappes. These foods are high in fat, sugar, and calories and should be avoided if you want to get healthy. Here are 6 harsh realities that made me reevaluate my love for Starbucks.

Who doesn’t love bacon, egg, and cheese? The Breakfast Double-Smoked Bacon, Cheddar & Egg Sandwich is a high-protein croissant bun. It features bacon smoked over hickory wood chips for six hours. It comes with a cage-free fried egg and is topped with melted cheddar cheese.

The Breakfast Double-Smoked Bacon, Cheddar & Egg Sandwich sounds delicious. However, one serving size is 148 g and has 500 calories, 27 g of total fat, and 8 g of sugar. Not to mention it’s also high in sodium, containing 960 mg.

The Iced Lemon Loaf is a buttery, citrusy lemon pound cake topped with icing. I found the icing had become too sweet. Furthermore, I think it’s quite expensive at $4.75. You can pick up a slice at Walmart for $1.48 that tastes just as good.
©S.W. Photo/Shutterstock.com
The Iced Lemon Loaf is a popular choice for those with a sweet tooth. But have you ever looked at the nutritional value? One piece is 115 g and has 410 calories, 17 g of fat, and 36 g of sugar. That’s quite a lot considering men should not consume more than 35 g of sugar and women no more than 25 g per day.

In 2017, Starbucks introduced its protein boxes. There used to be quite a range that would suit different taste buds. The assortment today is not as vast, and I was disappointed to see that not all locations stock the same protein boxes.
©S.W. Photo/Shutterstock.com
While these meals may be high in protein, they are also high in calories and may not be the right choice for your lunch depending on your personal needs. Let’s take a look at the protein boxes I found at a location near my area.
Furthermore, I also think the protein boxes are expensive. You can make your own at home for a fraction of the price.

Back in 2016, Starbucks recalled breakfast sandwiches, cheese, and fruit boxes. According to CNN, these items were voluntarily recalled due to concerns of contamination with allergens or listeria. This reality made me reevaluate my love for Starbucks, especially after I found out that Starbucks does not make its food fresh. All foods arrive boxed up, frozen, and popped into a small machine to be heated up. With that said, this is my personal opinion and concern about contamination.
©Tutatamafilm/Shutterstock.com
According to Mayoclinic.org, listeria is a foodborne bacterial illness that can affect people with weak immune systems, people over the age of 65, and pregnant women. The problem with this bacteria is that it can survive in the fridge and freezer. Symptoms can include, diarrhea, nausea, fever, chills, and muscle aches.

Sure, that Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino tastes like heaven, but have you thought about how much sugar and calories you’re putting into your body? It might be time to think twice before you indulge in these extra-sugary drinks daily. I was completely shocked about the amounts.

Starbucks used to be well known for its affordable fast food prices. However, the prices have increased a lot over the past few years making it less budget-friendly. Finance Buzz used information from website menus to see how prices have increased since 2014.

Finally, instead of spending money on Starbucks, I could save that money and put it towards a pension fund. 6 harsh realities that made me reevaluate my love for Starbucks are going to help me achieve my goals to get fit.

]]>Can you guess the children’s show that your grandmother loves too? No, it’s not Peppa Pig; it’s Bluey. This Australian animated television series was created by Joe Brumm and first aired in October 2018. There are 3 seasons and 154 Bluey episodes. Bluey is a six-year-old (later seven-year-old) blue Heeler puppy (Australian cattle dog). She is known for endless amounts of energy, creative thinking, and curiosity about the world. This cute young dog lives with her mother, Chilli; father, Bandit; and little sister, Bingo.
The series focuses on Australian culture, growing up, and family. Bluey is the children’s show that your grandmother loves too. It offers relatable parental experiences, life lessons, and witty humor. This kid's show is one everyone can enjoy. Let’s take a look at why parents, grandparents, and caregivers rave about the show.
Bluey and Bingo play imaginative games in most of the episodes. All of these games are entertaining and easy to duplicate at home. “Featherwand” is a charming episode where Bingo has a featherwand and makes everything heavy. Mum and Bluey are about to get in the car to go to Chloe's party, and Bingo turns everything heavy using a feather. The car keys, the hat, and Chloe's present are all heavy. Bluey enjoyed playing the game and had second thoughts about going to the party because she didn’t want to miss out on the “featherwand” game. If you’re a parent looking for fun things to do even on rainy days, Bluey has great ideas that promote role-playing and creativity.
Their voices are not only cute, but they are really funny comedians. I loved the episode called “Grouchy Granny.” Bluey, Bingo, and their cousin Muffin dress up and pretend to be grannies. Muffin acts like a grouchy granny trying to sell her granny mobile at the neighbor Doreen’s yard sale. Doreen is a very kind and sweet elderly Great Pyrenees. Next the “grouchy granny” runs into a real-life grouchy granny who wants to purchase the granny mobile and bargains with her; it becomes even more hilarious.

A distinctive quality of the Bluey show is that it shows common parenting problems. In season 3 episode 24 “Faceytalk,” Trixie and Stripe argue about how to deal with Muffin’s misbehavior. Bluey and Bingo enjoy video chatting on Faceytalk with their cousins Muffin and Socks. They like to draw pictures together. In this episode, the kids learn what happens when they hog and don’t take turns. It also shows parents that it’s ok not to have all the answers regarding parenting.
People don’t seem to talk to their neighbors anymore, and without this type of interaction, people can feel more disconnected. However, in the show, the characters are always interacting with one another. In season 2 episode 34, “Café,” Bluey tells her mum about making a new friend named Winnie. She wants to go have breakfast at Winnie’s house, but her dad says they’ve only just met. In this episode, Bluey realizes that adults take a little longer to make friends. Bluey teaches people not to feel alone and to reach out and speak to those around them.
When you get stuck in the same routine every day, it can feel tedious. It’s not fun to vacuum the floors, do the laundry, and wash the dishes. Thankfully, after watching Bluey, we can regain a sense of mystery and magic that lies hidden in daily chores. Whether it’s doing the BeeeeOOP dance, or a funny walk.
Bluey encourages children to do the small things they need to do, like eat their vegetables, take a bath, and brush their teeth while showing them why these things are important to do.
©Courtesy of BBC Archives
It allows some adults to heal from bad childhood experiences; watching Bluey reminds them of the childhood they could have had. For example, Bandit and Chilli make time to play with their children. For some, this is a reminder that their parents may have always been busy and didn’t have time for them.
In the show, there are many times when the parents communicate with their kids, either by listening to their needs or providing reasons for why things are the way they are. Children want to be heard, and Bluey is a reminder that as adults we need to communicate with them in the correct ways.
As adults, we need to remind ourselves that self-care is important. In season 3, episode 11, “Sheepdog” Chilli confidently tells her family, “I need 20 minutes when no one comes near me!” This is relatable for all parents; it’s okay to take time for yourself.
Finally, parenting can be tricky. There isn’t a rule book to follow, and it’s hard to know which methods to use. Even though Bluey is just a TV show, it acts as a guide and teaches adults how to parent. With patience and support, parenting can be a wonderful reward.

]]>Parenting is said to be one of the hardest jobs in the world. When it comes to raising children, many parents wish there was a straightforward manual they could follow. While there are thousands of parenting books out there, it’s important to remember that each child and family is unique, and not all parenting styles are the same.
Different cultures have distinct parenting styles that reflect their own values, social norms, and beliefs. As with all cultures, there are differences between American and Japanese parenting tactics that influence how children are cared for. Read on to find out how these parenting styles differ.
©Eivaisla/Shutterstock.com
As of 2025, Japan is the eleventh-most populous country, with a population of more than 123 million. This country is made up of four main islands: Kyushu, Hokkaido, Shikoku, and Honshu, along with thousands of smaller islands.
The tactics used in Japanese households have drawn attention to Japanese parents and how they raise their children. These parents focus on self-regulation, independence, respect, and discipline and their methods differ from traditional Western approaches. Let’s take a look at a few examples.
©kapinon.stuio/Shutterstock.com
Nuclear families are most common in Japanese culture; however, there are extended families too. Extended families are families with three generations living together. Often, families eat meals together and traditional food is important. Social harmony, politeness, and modesty are also important in Japanese culture.
©takayuki/Shutterstock.com
The proximal parenting style is linked to extended and regular body touch between the mother and the child. In Japan, this is the most common style of parenting. It’s normal for the mother and child to co-bathe and co-sleep together.
A survey on Japanese parenting customs found that in the first two years of life, Japanese mothers were only away from their babies for two hours a week while American parents would spend 24 hours away. In Japanese culture, it’s not common for parents to get babysitters or go on vacation without taking the baby with them.
©BELL KA PANG/Shutterstock.com
Next, we have the distal parenting style. According to a 2009 study, this style focuses more on facial expression, eye contact, verbal communication, and the use of objects to interact. This type of parenting involves more distance between the parent and the child than other parenting styles. It occurs more in Western, modern, and urban culture families and it’s not that common in Japan.

Many Western countries, such as the United States, Australia, and South Africa, are considered individualistic cultures. This is because they often prioritize individualism and personal achievement. Many Asian countries, like Japan, are considered collective cultures because they follow social norms and prioritize the needs of group harmony instead of the needs of an individual.

Japanese children are instilled with responsibility and self-discipline from a young age. This teaches them to manage their own behavior and make good decisions in life. It’s also a way of teaching them to value and work hard to achieve their goals.
©SOMRERK WITTHAYANANT/Shutterstock.com
Japanese parents allow their children to work on tasks independently. This teaches them important skills, such as problem-solving, and will enable them to take on challenges with confidence.
©imtmphoto/Shutterstock.com
The government of Kagawa said that children’s marks have been dropping in school. Because of this, a new law was passed limiting screen time for children under 18. The new rule states that children can only play video games for 90 minutes on holidays and weekends and 60 minutes on school days. However, the government has no way of enforcing these rules.
©Monkey Business Images/Shutterstock.com
The Japanese have very strong ties with their community. Extended family and community play an important role in raising children for Japanese parents. This support and guidance helps the children to feel connected with those around them.
©S Prodution/Shutterstock.com
In Japan, parents and teachers implement cleaning time at home and school. Cleaning up your space is part of learning good manners and consideration towards others in their culture. Having children clean also develops their social abilities and helps to clear their minds. In the schools, children are put in groups of four or six and given roles to clean the group’s area each week, which usually takes about 5-15 minutes to do.
©kapinon.stuio/Shutterstock.com
Finally, Japanese parents put significant focus on their children’s academics. Compared to many other countries, these students have longer school days and often attend after-school activities. The education system is highly competitive, which is why they have to study so hard. This competitive environment can put a lot of pressure on school-age children.

]]>In the fast food industry, burgers are one of America’s top food choices. Each of us has a particular chain restaurant that we feel really stands out above the rest. How does a burger from a fast food restaurant meet all of the requirements to make the best burger? Well, the best burgers are usually made with top-quality beef, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, onions, a fluffy bun, and the perfect right sauce. In-N-Out and Shake Shack are both renowned for their delicious burgers; however, it all boils down to your personal preference. Join us as we explore their menu and evaluate customers’ taste tests and experiences to uncover the verdict. In-N-Out vs. Shake Shack: Who actually has the better burger?
©Courtesy of Julianne M. via Yelp
First, In-N-Out has a very basic menu that features the Double-Double, Cheeseburger, and Hamburger. The not-so-secret menu features favorites such as the Double Meat, 3X3, 4X4, Grilled Cheese, Animal Style, and Protein Style, where you can choose whether you want your burger on a bun or wrapped in lettuce.

Next, Shake Shack’s menu is more diverse and offers approximately 16 different burgers, including beef, chicken, and veggie. They also serve their specialty crinkle-cut fries, shakes, frozen custard, flat-top hotdogs, and an array of beverages.

In-N-Out is well renowned for its pledge to always use fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Like In-N-Out, Shake Shack is well known for using high-quality Angus beef and then smashing it to perfection.

As previously mentioned, In-N-Out serves basic hamburgers: the Double Double, Cheeseburger, and Hamburger. However, sometimes you just want a burger with a few more ingredients.

As mentioned earlier, Shake Shack has a diverse menu, with about 16 different burgers with toppings.

In-N-Out is generally cheaper than Shake Shack. This is probably because they have a limited menu, and as we all know, it can be quite pricey to get takeout, especially when taking the family. For a family of four, you can get a whole meal and a shake for under $20.
Pros
Cons

Shake Shack has some really toothsome items on their menu. Logically speaking, if you’re seeking more than a regular burger, you’ll obviously pay more. The White Truffle Burger is $12.59. I would advise a single patty because, in my experience, double patties may contain too much oil. Although everyone has their own preference. However, if you prefer chicken, Shake Shack Chicken Shack is superb and only costs $9.89.

There is no doubt that In-N-Out burgers contain fewer calories than Shake Shack. While In-N-Out has fewer burger options on the menu, let’s take a look at the calorie intake of the popular standard Double Double. Keep in mind the 4X4 will obviously have more calories.

Shake Shacks The Double Shack Burger contains more calories than the Double Double from In-N-Out.
Double Shack Burger: It includes two Angus beef patties, with double cheese, lettuce, tomato, and their specialty Shack Sauce. One burger will cost $12.49. Furthermore, this burger contains 760 calories.

Each In-N-Out restaurant has various reviews on customer experiences. I guess it all depends on where the branch is located and how friendly the staff are.

In-N-Out has a limited menu; however, their prices are affordable. I would like to try Shake Shack again, and this time have a single patty so I don’t have that bloated sick feeling. “Donut ever give up on your dreams, especially if they involve sprinkles.” Life is always better with sprinkles; they remind me of my childhood. Baking cupcakes with my Nana was my favorite, and she always said, “Sprinkles make everything better.” I guess that’s because they are colorful, and it’s a beautiful sight when you see a rainbow. Just like a delicious, tasty, colorful doughnut from the Doughnut Plant.

]]>During the 1800s, many Americans consumed bacon and eggs for breakfast, providing them with a high-protein meal to start their day. However, it wasn’t until later that lower-calorie breakfast meals became quite the rage. In 1972, McDonald’s introduced their breakfast menu, and it holds a special place in people’s stomachs and hearts. The egg McMuffin became a popular hit for those looking for a quick, convenient, and satisfying morning meal. Adding more breakfast items to the menu resulted in more customers and higher demand. I enjoy a decent breakfast to get me going; however, I used to think McDonald’s breakfast was the best, but these 8 are superior.
In addition to serving food, these 8 restaurants are not just a place to eat but also to socialize with friends and family. Breakfast restaurants have grown to include small businesses and large chains, and each one offers its own version of what is known as the most important meal of the day.
Founded in 1959, this relaxed dining eatery is well known for its fantastic breakfast menu. In addition to breakfast, they also serve lunch, dinner, and award-winning pies.
©Brent Hofacker/Shutterstock.com
The Village Inn’s comprehensive menu consists of three-egg omelets, classic options, signature savory skillets, an amazing V.I.B. menu, and grilled favorites. I recommend the Strawberry Crêpes Combo; it comes with two strawberry crêpes, two sausage links, or two bacon strips served with hashbrowns.
Established in 1997, this casual restaurant was first born on a beach in Florida. It has a positive reputation for its healthy breakfast bowls, super veggie smoothies, and breakfast wraps and flatbreads.

Tropical Smoothie Café has a wide variety of breakfast wraps, flatbreads, and dillas. Furthermore, they also serve sandwiches and salads. I recommend the super veggie smoothie Detox Island Green. It’s a blend of kale, spinach, fresh ginger, mango, and pineapple and is naturally sweetened.

Furthermore, their beverage list includes coffees, sodas, beer, signature cocktails, and more.

The breakfastmenu features a variety of dishes, so there is something for everyone that will satisfy your hunger. Choose from the healthy side up, breakfast classics, breakfast craves, skillets, omelets, benedicts, South of the border, pancakes, waffles, French toast, and crepes selections.
I recommend the Baja Breakfast Tacos, which include two corn tortillas stuffed with scrambled eggs and spicy chorizo. Topped with cotija cheese, avocado, and salsa fresca and served with black beans and Mexican rice.
Founded in 1995, there are over 600 Einstein Bros. Bagels locations in the United States. This popular casual chain is well known for its delicious bagels that will make you want to come back for more. Signing up for their rewards program is easy, and there is also the opportunity to earn unlimited free hot or iced coffee.

The menu features delectable gourmet, signature, and classic bagels. Try one of their luscious garden veggie, honey almond, jalapeño salsa, onion & chive, plain, or strawberry shmear on your next bagel. I recommend the Texas Brisket Egg Sandwich. It’s smoked beef brisket, cage-free eggs, smokey chipotle aioli, and cheddar cheese on a freshly baked cheddar jalapeño gourmet bagel.
Founded in 1964, this casual dining restaurant has 272 locations. It got its name from the act of huddling in football and is open 24 hours a day. Apart from serving home-cooked-style breakfasts, they also serve starters, lunch, dinner, sides, and desserts. The ambiance, service, and food are great at Huddle House.

Let us know in the comments below which meal you’ve tried from Hash House a Go Go.

However, even loyal customers can’t deny that other grocery stores offer equal if not better shopping experiences. There are budget-friendly stores, health stores, and more that cater to various customer needs. Don’t get me wrong; I love Trader Joe’s, but even I admit these 8 grocery stores are better.
